Esthetic Crown Lengthening (live surgical video presentation)
Dr. Wilson demonstrates treating a gummy smile using the DEKA PerioLase in combination with crown lengthening. For these procedures, precise treatment planning includes gathering sufficient treatment planning data, including CBCT, intraoral scan, and photos. The intraoral scan is overlayed on the CBCT to see exactly how far the gum covers the teeth, as well as the distance of the bone tot the enamel. The Chu gauge is used to measure the correct proportion for gingivectomy. The laser allowed us to contour the gingiva with little bleeding afterwards. Overall, esthetic crown lengthening can achieve a dramatic difference in appearance, almost immediately.
